Life is beautiful if one knows its value. It’s like a flower blooming in spring, mesmerizing us with its vibrant colours and sweet fragrance. However, we cannot avoid the sharp thorns that accompany such beauty. In life, everyone seeks happiness, but no one wants pain. Yet, it is impossible to experience a rainbow without a little rain. Therefore, we should learn to enjoy every drop of life, whether it falls from our eyes or the sky.
The life of a butterfly is very short, yet it revels in its existence. Similarly, we must start living fully, realizing that life is short and inherently beautiful. Life is a blend of tragedy and happiness, and it becomes truly beautiful when we understand its depth. To live life to the fullest, we should never lose hope, as hope is the very essence of life. Our struggles present challenges that can only be overcome through hope; we must never give up. The moment we lose hope is the moment we surrender our will to live.
Life is often composed of routines and patterns. Each day, we enact these routines, which form the bulk of our lives. Boredom stemming from routine is a creation of the mind; in reality, there are no ordinary or extraordinary moments—there is beauty everywhere. If we truly grasp this concept, we will find bliss and beauty in every aspect of our existence.
But if life is so beautiful, why do we experience worries and conflicts? In my teenage years, I often wondered why God burdened me with so many troubles, which I believed others did not face. I felt like the most grief-stricken person in the world. Looking back now, I realize that my worries were often trivial—was it losing a friend who stopped talking to me, my parents not allowing me to go out, or my father scolding me for watching too much TV? Sometimes I even lamented my appearance, wishing to be taller or fairer.
Now, I feel guilty for wasting my energetic and creative years on such unnecessary and childish thoughts. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit a school for physically and mentally challenged children, and this experience profoundly changed my perspective on life. I saw the innocent children, their eyes filled with helplessness and a craving for life. Each child was striving to do their best with the abilities they had. And what had I been doing all these years? Lamenting what I did not possess.
God has blessed me with a mentally and physically healthy body. What a precious and valuable gift life is! Why had I not valued it? I felt ashamed. Instead of trapping myself in a cocoon of self-pity, I realized I should look around and appreciate the beauty and blessings in my life, rather than focusing on my perceived weaknesses by comparing myself to others. Each day is a precious gift, and each moment is an opportunity. We cannot predict what will happen in the next moment, so let us fill each moment with life.
Let us strive to do good for society and make our lives memorable. After all, the idea that "life is beautiful" is paradoxical. Life is beautiful with all its worries and conflicts; without them, how could we truly appreciate the bliss that life offers?
We often fantasize about where we want to be, who we want to be with, and how we envision ourselves, all while neglecting the moments, people, and places of significance in our lives. The challenge we face when longing for a different life is that we treat our current situation and our aspirations like an on-and-off switch. We sever the connection to the "now" and activate the "will be." If we cannot find happiness where we are, we will not find it in the future, either.
Accomplishments lose their value when overshadowed by the next goal on the horizon. We should never become so engrossed in where we are going that we fail to appreciate where we currently stand. Every day deserves our acknowledgement and should be embraced fully. Our ambitions are important, and we should always strive to progress toward our dreams.
Loving the struggle, embracing the challenges, understanding the sacrifices, and acknowledging those who support us along the way are integral to the process that shapes us into better individuals. When we understand the beauty of today and embrace all it has to offer, we will learn to appreciate the goodness we receive.
Life is beautiful, though the journey is filled with ups and downs; it is a beautiful ride. Ultimately, life is beautiful if we choose to make it so. Indeed, life is what we make of it.
